Givenchy, French style of perfume
The House of Givenchy, founded at the very beginning of the 1950s, has greatly evolved over fifty years. Hubert de Givenchy initially positioned his company in the haute couture sector. But the acquisition of the Givenchy house by LVMH in 1988 allowed it to gain notoriety with development in ready-to-wear, luxury goods, perfumes, and leather goods. From its beginnings, Givenchy achieved the notoriety that became its own in haute couture. He proposed an unprecedented collection that Vogue would highlight with the Bettina blouse. Givenchy progressed and continued its development: the French designer would also associate with several big names. In the 1950s, Balenciaga and Givenchy were associated and set up opposite each other on Avenue Georges V in Paris. The two men improved their collaboration with jointly launched collections, notably Givenchy's Baby Doll, which was a success. In the 1970s, the two partners protected their respective creations under licenses to preserve their collections and limit copies.
Shortly after the beginning of the 1980s, LVMH participated in the international development of the brand by developing perfumes and, of course, Givenchy's luxury range. The founder's house has also proposed different perfume configurations. The French house is often associated with cinema, and many film celebrities have participated in the Givenchy adventure, particularly for the house's perfume marketing operations.
