Loris Azzaro is a world-renowned perfume brand, and one of the most popular among fragrance lovers. The brand's exciting and inspiring history has made it even more attractive to high-end customers.

The brand's history began in 1965. In the beginning, it was a couture house, specialized in the creation of luxury garments for women. Indeed, its creator, who gave his company its name, felt a close connection with women, which is why he intended to sublimate them.

However, it was his wife, Michelle Azzaro, who officially created the company. His first collection consisted of just eight outfits, which revolutionized the fashion world in 1967. Shortly after this feat, in 1968, Azzaro gained worldwide renown with a single off-the-shoulder dress mounted on light-colored wooden rings, christened Elle, worn by model Cheryl Tiegs.

Eventually, the house moved to France, which brought it even more attention, with customers including Dalida and Sophia Loren; Azzaro built up a loyal following over the years. His dresses were even worn by movie stars such as Sharon Stone and Nicole Kidman on the red carpet.

Finally, in 2003, after Vanessa Seward took over management, Azzaro turned to fashion accessories such as fragrances. In 2006, Loris Azzaro reached its apogee following its takeover by Reign Capital.

Who is Loris Azzaro?

Loris Azzaro was born in Italy on February 9, 1933. With his Sicilian origins, he spent his childhood in Tunisia, where he began designing dresses for his mother when he was just a child. His predisposition for haute couture discovered, he later obtained a degree in modern literature and became a teacher of Italian.

In 1962, the Sicilian left all his activities to settle in France. He became a fashion designer 3 years later, in 1965, having created the company that bears his name. 9 years later, he enjoyed dazzling success as a talented stylist, and was asked to create dresses for the filming of Marc Camoletti's play.

With his success, he was awarded the Légion d'honneur by former President François Mitterand. After a career of wealth and glory, Loris Azzaro bowed out of the business on November 20, 2003, at the age of 70, following a bout with cancer in Paris. And so he left his company, but his vision lives on.

The Italian's greatest creations

The origins of Azzaro pour Homme go back to 1978. Initially, it was designed for men who wanted to please women. The fragrance soon became a best-seller. In fact, Azzaro pour homme was the best-selling fragrance in Europe and Brazil. This fragrance is made from 50% noble natural substances, and presents a most elegant and virile scent. It is therefore Azzaro's best-selling fragrance.

On the women's Azzaro fragrance side , there's Azzaro pour Elle, which saw the light of day in 2015, and is essentially based on Loris Azzaro's vision that "a fragrance should always exalt your power of seduction". It is therefore perfectly suited to women with immense seductive power.

It's a fragrance that combines sensuality, elegance, glamour and, of course, seduction. Created by perfumers Nathalie Lorson and Fabrice Pellegrin, this fragrance returns to its origins: women.

Chrome pour Homme, this azure-blue fragrance first appeared in 1996. It was largely inspired by Loris Azzaro's relationship with his grandson. The fragrance thus evokes a sense of complicity, and is currently being updated to suit the needs of the times.

Well-represented fragrances

Like all fashion houses and perfume houses, Loris Azzaro has several muses, who are considered brand ambassadors. These muses are all equally charming. At present, there are two in particular.

You've probably already seen the first, Ian Somerhalder, in action. He plays a charismatic and particularly unstable vampire. He's the brother of Stephen Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries, the series that made his name. In fact, you may have already seen the advertisement in which Damon Salvatore is associated with Azzaro pour Homme perfume.

Very seductive, Ian Somerhalder defines himself perfectly with this Azzaro fragrance range and is very proud to be its muse. What's more, he reminds everyone that Azzaro is a very involved brand, and donates part of the purchase price of a bottle to his Ian Somerhalder Fundation, with the aim of building schools or ensuring the safety of animals.

The brand's second star is none other than Nikolaï Danielsen. With his perfectly sculpted features, it would have been impossible not to make him the face of the brand. He's both elegant and bad-boyish. At 30, he's got what it takes to be the face of the Azzaro brand. He proudly represents the Azzaro Wanted range and is also active in charitable associations. No wonder Azzaro is so well known.
