A passionate lover of women
Elie Saab's childhood was marked by tragedies that shaped his determined character from an early age; indeed, born in a small Lebanese town to a modest family, he was forced as a child to flee the ravages of the civil war, leaving everything behind for Beirut, ten people in a single car. Nothing could discourage the little boy who demonstrated, from the age of 9, a passion for fashion design. Tirelessly, he invented patterns that he drew on pieces of tissue paper, and cut out his first models from tablecloths and curtains that his mother, kindly, willingly gave him.
As an adult, he pursues this passion with the same verve: at only 18 years old, he launches his own brand after fashion studies that he finds boring – he already had the talent of genius, more accustomed to haute couture than ready-to-wear. The Rome fashion week welcomes him with open arms, then everything follows with an international expansion. Elie Saab knows what women want, and how to make them sublime. Since 2011, he has included a perfume line in his creations, totally in line with his style recognizable among all.
